Metal Technician Training Level 1 (MTT1) is an entry level apprentice position. An MTT1 is responsible for completing the majority of vehicle body repairs as listed on the RO under the supervision of a Master Metal Technician. All repairs are to be completed to the point of ‘ready for paint’ prior to delivering the vehicle to the paint department. An MTT1 is responsible for applying undercoating, gravel guard, seam sealer, and lubricants as needed or as listed on the RO. After painting, an MTT1 is responsible for reassembly and final body alignments and adjustments prior to the delivery of the vehicle.
